The City of Colorado Springs has over 2,200 employees who serve over 436,000 residents through Police, Fire, Public Works, Airport, Pikes Peak Highway, Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services, City Planning, and many other departments. City employees greatly impact the community by offering core services to residents and maintaining the city’s high quality of life.
The City is organized under the provisions of the Colorado Constitution and has a Council-Mayor form of government. This form of government includes a nine-member Council and a popularly elected Mayor as the City's chief executive.
